Stay Focused.

Today was the last day of camp. I have been too tired to document the events that have passed the last few days. As a result of my fatigue I can feel myself becoming thin minded. I am trying to remain present. I want to be here for the kids. Let me rephrase… I want to WANT… to be here. I am reminding myself that the best gift I can give someone is my TIME and the best time to give it is NOW. I have been to camps as a kid and I know that it’s hard to remain in the zone even when you’re a camper. I can see it on the rest of the team’s faces. Some of us don’t have the will power to remain focused. We have faced sickness and now we are starting to turn on each other. Tempers are in the red zone. Space is tight. It can be so easy to check out and to miss what’s going on here. It’s like the British propaganda posters say… “Keep Calm and Carry On”… in this case it’s “Keep Calm and Change Lives”. Let’s face it… I’m about 10,000 miles away from home so I might as well be present in Uganda.
